In accordance with Japan's Act on the Protection of Personal Information, JIS (hereafter, "the Company") has created this Privacy Policy and closely adheres to it in order to ensure that personal information is handled appropriately.

1. Purpose of using personal information

The Company uses personal information for the purposes listed as follows.

  1. To make decisions on whether or not to invest in a corporation
  2. To support and advise the management of a corporation the Company has invested in
  3. In addition to 1) and 2) above, to provide and administer services related to carrying out investments, offering consulting concerning the management of other business operators, mediating loans or credit, and handling the transfer or acquisition of monetary claims.
  4. To conduct a private placement of interests in the investment limited partnership operated by the Company, and make decisions on entering into contracts with investors
  5. In addition to 4) above, to carry out administrative functions, such as communication, report, notice, and payment, concerning the investment limited partnership operated by the Company
  6. To make decisions on entering into transactions with customers and business partners, and administer the transactions
  7. To exercise rights and fulfill obligations in accordance with contracts, laws and regulations
  8. To respond to various kinds of enquiries and requests for information
  9. To make hiring decisions, and administer personnel at the Company
  10. To send greeting cards, such as New Year's cards
  11. If personal information is obtained for any other purpose, the Company will clearly specify the reason.

2. Provision of personal information to third parties

In principle, the Company does not provide or disclose the personal information it has acquired to third parties, except in the following cases.

  1. If the Company has obtained the consent of the person from which the personal information has been acquired
  2. If the provision complies with relevant laws and regulations
  3. If it is difficult to obtain the consent of the person from which the personal information has been acquired in the event the information is necessary for protecting property or the physical safety and lives of others
  4. If obtaining the consent of the person from which the personal information has been acquired may hinder cooperation with national or local government organizations or people authorized by them to handle matters prescribed by laws and regulations

3. Confirmation and amendment of personal information

You can confirm or amend your personal information by submitting a disclosure request form provided by the Company. For information about how to obtain a disclosure request form or other internal document, please contact the Company using the information provided below in section 6. If making a request for disclosure, you will need to provide proof of your identity, such as a driver's license, and pay the processing fee set by the Company for disclosing personal information.

4. Supervision over officers, employees, and outsourcing contractors

The Company exercises necessary and appropriate supervision over its officers and employees so as to ensure the security control of the personal information. In case of entrusting a whole or part of the handling of personal information, the Company exercises necessary and appropriate supervision over an outsourcing contractor so as to ensure the security control of the personal information of which the handling has been entrusted.

5. Security control measures

The Company takes necessary and appropriate measures for the security control of personal information including preventing the leakage, modification, or loss of the personal information. Such measures include the following matters.

Establishment of basic policy

  • The Company establishes the basic policy providing the matters such as “compliance with the applicable laws, regulations and guidelines” and “the Company’s division in charge of enquiries regarding the handling of personal information” so as to ensure the appropriate handling of personal data.

    • Establishment of handling rules for security control of personal data

  • The Company establishes the rules and procedures for the handling of personal data applicable to the acquisition, usage, and recordkeeping of personal data.

    • Institutional security control measures

  • The Company appoints a person responsible for the management of personal data, and establishes the rules and procedures for reporting from employees to the responsible person.

    • Human security control measures

  • The Company’s internal rules provide the confidentiality of personal data and related matters.

    • Physical security measures

  • The Company takes measures to limit access to the personal data by the person other than the data subject and the person who is authorized to handle the personal data.

    • Technological security measures

  • The Company takes measures to protect the electric equipment processing personal data from unauthorized access from outside and malicious programs.
